After launching the Ender3 S1 series, which is much more expensive than the previous Ender3 range, Creality doesn’t seem to have abandoned the previous generation Ender3 with the release of the Neo series.
Buy the Ender 3 Neo
The Ender 3 is probably one of the most popular machines, released now over 3 years ago, since Creality has launched new machines, such as the Ender3 S1 and Ender 3 S1 Pro. The competition, which is also heavily inspired by this machine, often compared as “Ender 3 like”, offers more and more advanced machines, much better than the aging Ender3.
To remedy this, Creality is now offering a Neo version of the Ender 3 for $219, which is relatively close to the original Ender 3, but with some interesting improvements, such as a CR-Touch self-levelling sensor, a full metal bowden extruder, a silent motherboard, and a new hotend.
This Neo range is also extended to other versions of the Ender 3, such as the Ender 3 V2 Neo, with the CR-Touch sensor, and the Ender 3 Max Neo, with a new design
Ender 3 Neo
Visually the Ender 3 Neo looks like the original Ender 3, Creality seem to have improved on the weak points of the Ender 3, notably with a metal extruder, the one on the previous generation Ender 3 was quite fragile and often replaced
Thanks to its silent motherboard, this Ender 3 Neo should be discreet in your living room. The $219 price tag allows Creality to offer an entry-level machine, which will allow you to discover 3D printing at a lower cost
The integration of the CR-Touch self-levelling sensor into the Ender 3 Neo is probably one of the most interesting improvements on this machine. This accessory makes it much easier to adjust the printer’s bed, which is often the source of many problems.
Ender 3 V2 Neo
The Ender 3 V2 was already an improvement on the original Ender 3, so this Ender 3 V2 Neo offers fewer improvements, but is closer to the Ender 3 S1 series. The Ender 3 V2 Neo is now equipped with a CR-Touch self-levelling sensor, a metal extruder, and a new magnetic plate with a flexible metal plate. Visually the Ender 3 V2 Neo is almost identical to the Ender 3 V2. The price announced on Creality’s official website is 299$.
The only major difference between the Ender 3 V2 Neo and the Ender 3 S1 is in the extruder, we have a bowden extruder on the V2, whereas the Ender 3 S1 has a direct drive extruder.
Ender 3 Max Neo
Visually the Ender 3 Max Neo is totally different from the previous generation Ender 3 Max, previously we had to deal with a large format Ender 3, but with the Ender 3 Max Neo, we have a new design with many improvements!
The Ender 3 Max Neo is of course also equipped with a CR-Touch sensor, a new full metal extruder and the power supply is now hidden under the printer frame.
Another major improvement of the Ender 3 Max Neo is the integration of a 2nd Z-axis, for more stability during your prints, with a synchronization belt.
The Ender 3 Max Neo also has the same screen as the V2, which is much more ergonomic and pleasant to use than the screen on the original Ender 3, and belt tensioners. Finally, there is an end of filament sensor, which does not exist on the Ender 3 Neo and Ender 3 V2 Neo.
This Ender 3 Max Neo has a print volume of 300x300x300mm, and is priced at $369 on the official Creality shop.
Ender 3 Neo, Ender 3 V2 Neo and Ender 3 Max Neo Reviews
Today there are a lot of 3D printers on the market, the Ender 3 was a reference, often compared to new machines. Its price was also very attractive, around 200€, and the community remained very active for this machine by proposing many improvements.
It’s a good idea to maintain the Ender 3 series with these improvements, which are now standard features on new machines
